Ingredients:
-
1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed)
-
1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
-
100g feta cheese, crumbled
-
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
-
Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
-
Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan-forced) and line a baking tray with baking paper.
-
Prepare the filling: In a bowl, combine the chopped spinach, crumbled feta cheese, and Persian Herb Stew meal base. Mix until the ingredients are evenly coated with the stew base.
-
Assemble the scrolls: Lay the puff pastry sheet on a clean, flat surface. Evenly spread the spinach and feta mixture over the pastry, leaving a 1cm border around the edges.
-
Roll it up: Starting from one edge, tightly roll the pastry into a log. Use a sharp knife to slice the log into 2cm thick scrolls.
-
Bake: Place the scrolls flat on the prepared baking tray. Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
-
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and puffed.
-
Cool & Serve: Allow the scrolls to cool slightly before serving. They’re delicious warm or at room temperature.
Serving Suggestions: These scrolls make a great party snack, picnic addition, or lunchbox treat. Pair them with a simple yoghurt dip or a side salad for a more filling meal.
