Turkish Style Meatballs

Experience the sundrenched goodness of Ottoman cuisine with our Soslu Köfte - a nutritious and aromatic sauce for Turkish-style meatballs.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Sear meatballs with 2 tbsp oil or ghee in a
medium saucepan.
2) Stir in the recipe base and fry for 2-3 minutes.
Add 50 ml water or stock if required.
3) Slice the vegetables and place between the meatballs.
4) Bring to boil, then lower heat and simmer for 20 minutes with lid on until cooked.

Serve with a garden salad, steamed rice and Turkish bread.
Our tip: Try with your favourite meatballs - chicken, beef or plant-based. Add 1 cup of diced eggplant for extra veggies. Garnish with parsley.

Absolurtely! You can increase the volume of each sauce. Here is our tip for each sauce:

- Persian Herb Stew: Add 3 cubes of spinach. Add 2 limoo omani if you have at hand.

- Turkish Meat-ball sauce: Add 2tbsp of tomato paste & 1 Tsp cumin.

- Moroccan Tagine: Add one can of coconut milk.

- Persian Walnut Chicken: Add 2Tbsp pomegranate molases.

- Tunisian Shakshuka: Add 1 Tbsp tomato paste and 1 tsp Paprika.

Yes, store the leftover sauce in an airtight container and use within 1 week.

Make sure to use a clean spoon so you don't add any contaminations to the sauce.

Absolutely delicious!

I make a vego version of the Persian Herb Stew with haloumi and red kidney beans, and serve it with pearl couscous. Addictively good :-)
